Secretary of Central Bangka of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sport service Sumadi A. Amin stated, those participants are predicted to be arrived on Ketawai Island, Koba, Central Bangka on October 27-28. For this occasion, the local government prepares a variety of series of events to welcome the international visitors.
“They were asked to transit by the district government in Central Bangka because their visit is expected to give the good impact in public economic growth in that region,” said Sumadi.
The 154 yachts of ‘Sail Morotai’ participants come from different countries, such as Singapore, USA, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, France, England, Philippine, and some other countries. They will depart on July 28 from Australia to Marotai Island.
Heru Irianto P, Head of Marine and Fisheries Department of Central Bangka stated, the local government will provide 20 up to 30 units of fishing boats to bring them from Ketawai Island to the mainland. “If the boats are not enough, more boats will be sent in order to make them impressed and intend to come here again”, he said.
